Privacy policy

This policy covers EasyLang, a language-practice app operated by Crawlink. It explains what happens to information when you use the app at https://easylang.crawlink.com.

The short version

• We store your Google name, email address and profile picture so you can sign in.
• Your practice sets, audio and word look-ups are saved on your own device, not on our servers.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
• You can delete everything yourself, from inside the app, at any time.

What we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and your Google account identifier. We use them to identify you, to show your name in the app, and to prevent abuse of the service. We never receive your Google password.

This information is held in a signed cookie in your browser. The cookie lasts 14 days, is marked HttpOnly so scripts cannot read it, and is sent only to this site.

What you type and generate

The topic, tags and language you choose are sent to our servers so sentences can be written for you, and to Cloudflare Workers AI which generates them. The same applies to a word you tap for a meaning, and the sentence it appeared in, which are needed to explain it in context.

The sentences that come back are stored in your browser, using IndexedDB. We do not keep a copy. If you clear your browser storage or use another device, that history is gone.

Speech

To read a sentence aloud, the text is sent to Microsoft's Edge read-aloud speech service, and in some cases to Cloudflare Workers AI. The audio that comes back is cached on your device and at Cloudflare's edge so replaying a sentence is fast.

Technical logs

Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs — IP address, time, the page requested, and error details. They are used to keep the service running and secure, and are not combined with your practice content.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent personal information.
• We do not run advertising, ad networks or third-party analytics trackers.
• We do not use your practice content to train our own models.
• We do not record your microphone. The app plays audio; it does not listen.

Who processes data for us

• Google — sign-in only. Governed by Google's own privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — hosting, and the Workers AI service that writes sentences and explanations.
• Microsoft — the Edge read-aloud service that turns sentences into speech.

These providers operate globally, so data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union.

How long we keep things

• Your session cookie expires after 14 days, or immediately when you sign out.
• Practice history stays on your device until you delete it.
• Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider, then discarded.

Your choices

Inside the app, Settings lets you clear the audio cache and delete every saved practice set. Signing out removes the session cookie. Clearing site data in your browser removes everything the app has stored locally.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase the personal information we hold, and to object to how we use it. Write to hello@crawlink.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

EasyLang is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Session cookies are signed so they cannot be forged, and API credentials are held in server-side secret storage, never in the browser. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects you, tell you in the app.
